A bunker spill is under investigation after the U.S. Coast Guard and California Department of Fish and Wildlife on Saturday were called to a spill in San Francisco Bay, Coast Guard News reports.

A fuel spill from the SS Jeremiah O'Brien, a WWII Liberty Ship docked at tourist destination Fisherman's Wharf, was reported to the Coast Guard on Saturday morning.

The amount of spilt bunkers is as yet unknown, but a slick measuring 100 by 150-yards was said to be visible by helicopter.

The initial response has included the deployment of 5,000 feet of boom around affected and environmentally vulnerable areas, with vacuum trucks and skimming vessels due to have commenced operations on Sunday morning.
