U.S. East Coast bunker supplier Sea Fuels Marine Services has acquired a 30,000-gallon diesel fuel barge and a new tug that it says will allow it to expand its operations, local newspaper South Coast Today reports.

The company, which currently serves New Bedford Harbor in the state of Massachusetts, will begin offering service to commercial vessels visiting nearby Buzzards Bay and delivering fuel and gasoline to islands off the coast.

Company President John Liarikos said the vessels have modern pumps and delivery systems for fuel and lubricants.

"Sea Fuels is now positioned as the premier diesel fuel supplier to the New Bedford fishing fleet and commercial vessels well into the future," he said.

Both vessels were acquired from Reinauer Marine of New York State, with financing provided by BayCoast Bank.

Sea Fuels Marine Services provides low-sulfur marine diesel, gasoline, and kerosene, as well as several brands of lubricants, according to its website.
