The U.S. Coast Guard has fined a ship operator $2,500 over a spill of about 200 gallons of fuel oil into a river Friday, local newspaper The Virginian-Pilot reports.

A tank on 740-foot bulk carrier Ostria S overflowed after being filled while the ship was docked at a coal pier at Lamberts Point in the southern state of Virginia.

Cleanup of the spill was completed Sunday, and an investigation into the incident is underway.

The 2008-built, Greek-flagged ship is operated by Order Shipping Co. Ltd. of Pireaus, Greece and owned by Nemesis Navigation Corp. of the Marshall Islands, according to ship data site Shipspotting.
