John w. Stone Oil Distributors LLC (John w. Stone) Friday said it has temporarily lowered the cost of bunkering at New Orleans.

The move, effective immediately, sees a reduction in barging fees and changes to New Orleans Port harbor limits.

"John W. Stone Oil is temporarily expanding the New Orleans Harbor Limits from mile markers (MM 76-MM 120) to mile markers (MM 57-MM 137). Through this stretch of the river Stone Oil will only charge the standard barge charge fee of $7,600.00 per delivery," the company said in a note today.

"In addition if a vessel receives bunkers at an anchorage beyond the revised harbor limits, Stone Oil will charge half of the normal Out Of Port fees as reflected in the attached document, effectively reducing the overall cost of bunkering in Port of New Orleans lower Mississippi River system."
