Aegean Marine Petroleum Network Inc. [NYSE: ANW] (Aegean) has deployed a second bunker tanker at its Off-Shore US Gulf of Mexico Coast supply operation with immediate effect, the global bunker supplier has told Ship & Bunker.

The 11,255 DWT Bon Aire Trader is a multi-product vessel, with capacity for 10,000 mt of fuel oil and 2,000 mt of gasoil, and offers pumping rates of 800-1000 mt/hour.

"The vessel came in fully equipped, and with a very experienced crew familiar with offshore bunkering in other locations," said Keith Richardson, Director of Supply at Aegean Bunkering (USA) LLC.

"The operation primarily serves incoming crude vessels, and offers an alternative to onshore bunkering, at the LOOP, Southwest Pass, Galveston Offshore Lightering Area (GOLA), and Sabine Pass."

The vessel complements Aegean's existing bunkering tanker in the Gulf, the 16,621 DWT Eva Schulte.

"The deployment of this new vessel reinforces our commitment to our customer base as we continue to achieve organic growth, and focus on strategically allocating our resources to capitalize on opportunities in markets where we see the most potential," commented Aegean President E. Nikolas Tavlarios.

The news follows a strong performance for Aegean so far in 2016, with bunker sales of over 4 million mt in both 1Q 2016 and 2Q 2016, representing year-on-year growth of 45 percent and 30 percent respectively.
