As OW Bunker later this month marks the two year anniversary of the launch of a physical bunker supply division in its U.S. operation, the supplier says it is seeing "clear demand" from buyers in North America.

"We have developed both our trading and physical supply operations across North America quite rapidly and with great success over the past two years, helping us to forge a strong market position and clear identity in what is an extremely competitive market," Adrian Tolson, General Manager, OW Bunker – North America, said in an emailed statement.

"We are seeing a clear demand from customers for high-value physical distribution services across North American ports, and we remain committed to providing them with the highest quality products and reliable, flexible solutions that help them to manage costs and operate most efficiently."

"This has become even more important with the impending 2015 ECA regulations, which will see an increase in demand for compliant distillate products."

In addition to its existing physical supply operations offshore Gulf of Mexico, in April this year, OW Bunker announced the commencement of its physical supply operations at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.

This was followed in June by news that the company had launched physical distribution operations in the ports of New York and New Jersey.

OW Bunker has also made a number of key appointments in recent months to support continued growth in its physical supply operations, including the appointment of former Aegean Marine Petroleum General Manager – Americas, Georgia Kounalakis, to its senior team.

To support the U.S. West Coast operations, OW Bunker also hired Martijn Kelderman as Manager - Physical Operations – Los Angeles, while Cindy Bauer-Gomez and Raymond Bacani joined the team as Operations Manager and Sales and Marketing Manager, respectively.
