Panamax Bulk Carrier Arrested in Singapore

The bulk carrier Mega Star has been arrested in Singapore, according to the latest records from the Supreme Court of Singapore.

Information from VesselsValue.com indicates that the 2011-built Panamax is controlled by UAE-based Stellar Shipping, and is valued at $13.37 million.

The 79,200 DWT Mega Star was detailed following action taken by local law firm Rajah & Tann Singapore LLP, with the arrest taking place on November 8, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. local time.

The circumstances leading to the arrest are currently unknown, but such action is common in instances of payment dispute.
