Maersk Line Tuesday announced that it will be adding two new services within the Far East and South East India, beginning in January 2016.

The company says the added services are part of a vessel sharing agreement (VSA) on the Chennai Express (CHX) and Slot Charter Agreement on the Chennai Express 2 (CHX2), and will provide Maersk Line customers with two additional sailings each week.

"The enhanced network will have a unique Northern China direct call, headhaul new direct port calls including Singapore, Hong Kong, Yantian, and Port Klang, and backhaul new direct port calls including Busan, Singapore and Port Klang," explained Maersk Line in the statement.

The news comes as Maersk Line last week said it is planning to cancel a total of 35 sailings in Q4 in addition to the closure of four services that have already been initiated over the last two months.
