BMS United Bunkers Appoints Managing Director in Asia

BMS United Bunkers (BMS) today announced in an emailed press release that next month George Kounalakis will assume the position of Managing Director of BMS United Bunkers in Asia.

The position will be effective December 8th, 2014, and sees Kounalakis responsible the firm's offices in the People's Republic of China (PRC), Hong-Kong, Indonesia, and Singapore.

"George has over 10 years of experience with an international career in sales, commercial and strategic development, as well as asset management. Recently he has held trading and management positions with well known broking and trading companies," said BMS.

"George's knowledge will greatly benefit our organisational development."

BMS said Kounalakis will work closely with the senior staff and traders in Asia as well as the management in Argentina, Cyprus, and Greece in developing the their Asian activities.

Mikael Haestrup, who has assisted BMS in Asia for the last 6 months, will return to Greece to take up new challenges within the organisation, the firm added.

The BMS United Bunkers brand was formed earlier this year after BMS Bunkers merged with Singapore-headquartered United Bunkering & Trading.
