Glander International Bunkering (GIB) Thursday highlighted the success of its Training Academy with the announcement that two of the programme's former interns, Kevin Lundgaard and Manos Gryllakis, have both been promoted and are now working as Bunker & Lubricant Traders.

Initiated into the intern programme in November 2015, Lundgaard and Gryllakis, are both based at GIB's Dubai office.

"In order to qualify for the Training Academy you must be results-driven and determined. Throughout the programme these skills are only reinforced through vigorous task orientated projects – it really is the best initiation into life as a commercial trader," said Gryllakis, who is largely focussed on Mediterranean ports, as well as smaller UAE/AG ports.

Lundgaard, commenting on the programme, said: "the quality of the programme's mentors really heightened my learning experience. The mentors are experienced traders who are still trading at the time of teaching, therefore their knowledge and tips are as current and as relevant as could be."

Christoffer Berg Lassen, CEO and Managing Director of GIB, said: "it is with great pride that I announce Kevin and Manos as Bunker and Lubricant Traders – they are excellent representations of the abilities and power that the Training Academy holds within the industry."

"Both traders have proven to be resilient, true team players – and are an integral part of the group."

In September, GIB announced that it had merged with Scandinavian Bunkering AS (Scandinavian Bunkering), which will now be re-named to Glander International Bunkering (Norway) AS as a result.
