The Peter Döhle Schiffahrts-KG (Peter Döhle) container ship Victoria, which grounded off Denmark on February 10, has sustained a 50 m long gash in its hull near a bunker tank as a result of the incident, TradeWinds reports.

Oil clumps have been reported on a local beach, but Defence Command Denmark (DCD) has not been able to confirm if the pollution is linked to the vessel.

DCD has confirmed that a diver inspection showed the box ship had sustained a 50 m by 20cm gash along its port side, 9 m below the waterline.

The diver that conducted the inspection had said there were no apparent leaks, and fuel appeared to have been solidified by the cold sea water.

The ship is reported to have been bound for Fredericia when it ran aground north of Funen before being ordered to drop anchor.
