Vyacheslav Khakhalkin, Deputy Director General of Gazprom Gazomotornoye Toplivo (Gazprom), at the International Gas Forum in Saint Petersburg, said Russia’s LNG bunker fuel sales can be expected to reach 1.35 million tonnes by 2030, IAA PortNews reports.

Further, Khakhalkin says that the LNG bunker market will account for 27 percent of the total Russian LNG market.

90 LNG-powered vessels are noted by Khakhalkin to be currently in operation worldwide, with another 72 vessels enter into operation by 2018.

In September, Gazprom announced that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (Mitsui) to cooperate on feasibility and marketing studies related to LNG bunkering in Russia's Far East and the Asia-Pacific region.
