Dromon Bureau of Shipping (DBS) has announced that it has been accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) as a verifier in relation to the European Union (EU) Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) regulation.

As Ship & Bunker has reported, the MRV regulation requires shipping companies to submit ship-specific monitoring plans to verifiers for approval by the end of August 2017, with per-voyage monitoring set to start on January 1, 2018.

With its UKAS accreditation, DBS says it can provide assessment of monitoring plans and verification of emissions reports.

"The recognition by UKAS further demonstrates our commitment to provide the maritime industry with compliance solutions on a demanding regulatory environment," said DBS.

"In addition, this achievement allows our organisation to provide our numerous clients with services related to EU MRV Regulation, ensuring they are well prepared and in compliance."
