Gulf Petrochem Appoints Former Indian Oil Chairman

Former Indian Oil Corporation chairman Brij Mohan Bansal has been appointed as United Arab Emirates-based Gulf Petrochem's new strategic advisor, in addition to joining the board of directors, Indian press reports

"Bansal brings with him unrivaled experience as witnessed by his accomplishments at Indian Oil Corporation," said Gulf Petrochem Managing Director Sudhir Goyel.

"His appointment is a strategic complement to our board, ensuring our diversification and expansion plans into emerging markets which will help the group realize our long-term objectives."

Bansal, who was also previously CEO of Kenya Petroleum Refineries Limited, will be heading Gulf Petrochem's expansion plans, handling mergers and acquisitions along with integration and diversification. 

"I have witnessed the group's exponential growth over the years, and when the opportunity arose to join its board ... it was something that I was honored to take," said Bansal. 

Earlier this year, the company also appointed Thangapandian Srinivasalu as executive director.
