Bunker supplier Monjasa A/S's owners have this month founded a new company, African Sprinter Shipping ApS, Shippingwatch reports.

Anders Østergaard and Jan Jacobsen are said to be heading the new company, which was set up under Monjasa Holding A/S as of November 1.

The pair recently announced they were stepping down from daily management responsibilities at Denmark's Monjasa A/S.

"We're taking a step back from daily operations so that we can focus on consolidating our business," Østergaard said recently.

"Things have gone fast these past years and now we need to focus more on consolidation rather than expanding."

It is understood he will be moving to Dubai as part of his new role.

No details have yet been released by Østergaard, Jacobsen, or Monjasa A/S as to the focus of the new company, but Østergaard recently said "the Middle East represents a significant growth region for us, and from Dubai we're also covering our activities in Africa."

Demand for bunkers in the Middle East port of Fujairah spiked 20 percent this week on news of OW Bunkers collapse.
