A new bunker broker and trader, Premium Bunkering SA (Premium Bunkering), has begun operations in Greece, the company has told Ship & Bunker.

The company boasts a number of extremely experienced personnel, including founder and Managing Director Panayotis Bachtis who previously spent 23 years at OW Bunker, and Sales Manager Despina Perimenis, who has some 26 years experience in the industry from her time at Aegean Marine Petroleum S.A. (Aegean) and OW Bunker.

The team also includes former Aegean and OW Bunker trader Christos Katarachias, and former OW Bunker Malta Operations Executive Kostas Lazarou.

"Premium Bunkering is represented in Greece by some of the most experienced professionals in the bunkering industry, with proven track records for integrity and success, previously holding very senior positions in one of the world's largest bunkering company," Perimenis told Ship & Bunker.

"Our business model is based on utilising our extensive knowledge of the local market, to offer the right quality and quantity, at the right time and at the most competitive price.

"Through partnerships that extend throughout the supply chain, we are not only able to monitor and report during all phases of the process (Customs clearance, barge loading, barge arrival alongside, bunkering completion, etc), but most importantly to intervene as and when required to ensure a smooth and trouble-free operation."

Perimenis also explained that after sales support was one of the areas where Premium Bunkering is aiming to make a difference.

"Our job does not conclude with the sale but only begins with it. We take a much more operational and coordinating approach with the aim to maintain our long lasting relationships and add value to our partners," she said.

"Bunkering in Piraeus and other Greek ports (Kali Limenes, Syros etc) still remains the safest and most attractive bunkering option in the whole East Med region, where bunkers can be supplied promptly and with a low risk for delays on account of congestions and/or adverse weather conditions.

"Piraeus in particular, presents a full service port with a comfortable and weather protected anchorage just a couple of miles off the harbor that can cater for all kinds of supplies and works, like lubricants, fresh water, repairs and spare parts, stores and provisions, slop receiving services, crew changes etc."

Premium Bunkering says that in addition to bunkers it also offers solutions for lubes, "on a 24/7 worldwide basis, through our global network of trusted major/independent suppliers/ local distributors."
