Gazpromneft Marine Bunker LLC (Gazpromneft) Wednesday announced that it has begun providing bunker supply services, via its bunker vessel Gazpromneft Omsk, to Shell International Trading and Shipping Company Ltd (STASCO) vessels within the Black Sea region.

"The expansion of cooperation with STASCO is a substantial confirmation of appreciation for the quality of our fuels and service by our partners," said Andrei Vasiliev, CEO of Gazpromneft.

"We plan to strengthen our leading position at the Russia's bunkering market by developing cooperation with major Russian and international shipping companies."

Gazpromneft says it signed the supply agreement with STASCO in February 2016, adding that, while it currently covers bunker supply in the Russian North West region, the agreement also includes an option for further regional expansion.

The first fuel shipments under the agreement are said to have started in March at the Port of Primorsk.

Gazpromneft Omsk, which has been assessed and approved for use by Shell International Shipping experts, is noted to have recently bunkered the 115,000 DWT tanker Iasonas with 1,480 tonnes of HFO under the agreement.

On Monday, Ship & Bunker reported that Gazpromneft has implemented a major project to optimise its supply vessel, Gazpromneft Zuid, in the Russian port of Murmansk, enabling round the clock supply operations and the provision of three types of lubricants.
