Norway-based Liquiline LNG will put its focus towards liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering after acquiring both Liquiline AS and Liquiline Europe AS, LNG World News reports

The company, which was only recently incorporated and is now a subsidiary of Hirtshals LNG AS, will acquire the technology solutions, logistics and terminal system LiquiSys, and the brand name Liquiline from Liquiline AS and Liquiline Europe AS, both of which went bankrupt back in September.

Knut Førland, managing director of Liquiline LNG and a former co-owner and chairman of Liquiline AS, said the company's priority would be completing the LNG terminal project in the Port of Hirtshals.

The facility will be Denmark's first LNG terminal, and was originally contracted by Norwegian ferry operator Fjord Line to Liquiline Europe AS.

"With the Fjord Line contract in place it will be full throttle from day one," said Førland.

In the original deal, Liquiline was to design, construct, and commission the terminal.

"I am pleased that the key technical and project staff from the former Liquiline is joining us in Liquiline LNG," he said.

The skills they represent are essential for executing the terminal project in Hirtshals, and will also be very important for future projects."

The project will be used to bunker Fjord Line's LNG-fueled cruise ferries MS Stavangerfjord and MS Bergensfjord.
