WE Tech Solutions (WE Tech) today announced it has received an order to deliver its bunker-saving permanent magnet shaft generator solution for two new 18,600 DWT chemical tankers with an option for a further two.

The tankers are being constructed by the China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) Chengxi Shipyard for Sweden's Ektank AB (Ektank).

WE Tech says it will begin equipment delivery to Hudong Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. in October 2017.

Last month, WE Tech announced that it has received an order for its battery-based Energy Storage Solution for two 17,500 DWT chemical tankers, including an option for two more.

In November, the company announced that it would supply its permanent magnet shaft generator solution to Stena Line's four newbuild RoPax ferries - a move We Tech said would enable "tonnes of fuel savings every day."
