Japan-based Eco Marine Power (EMP) has signed an agreement with Greece's Theodosiou Bros Ltd (TRIAD) to establish a renewable energy shipping technical support hub in Greece, the company announced

The deal would enable the two companies to jointly provide renewable energy solutions to companies looking to reduce emissions and lower fuel costs.

The solutions would include renewable energy assessments for vessels and equipment installations, along with EMP's ship management system, Aquarius MAS

The company said that TRIAD will initially concentrate on services that relate to EMP's MAS and solar energy systems, and will expand as other services hit the market.

TRIAD will also join the Blue Star Delos Renewable Energy Innovation Project, which is currently testing a number of new technologies aboard the Greek ferry Blue Star Delos

"Participating in the Blue Star Delos Renewable Energy Innovation Project has been a great learning experience and a great honor," said Akis Theodosiou of TRIAD.

"Now that we have also signed a support agreement with Eco Marine Power we look forward to working with them to implement further innovative solutions in Greece and other markets as well."

Installations aboard the Blue Star Delos began back at the end of October.
