VPS Appoints New Executive Chairman

Veritas Petroleum Services (VPS) Friday announced that it has appointed a new Executive Chairman, John Notman-Watt.

"John brings considerable international experience in the Testing Inspection and Certification industry having spent 18 years with Intertek followed by positions with Exova (formerly Bodycote) , the Stewart Group (where he was Managing Director) and more recently Group Trigo (where he was Chairman of the Supervisory Board)," said VPS.

Notman-Watt has been a member of the Board since IK Investment Partners acquired VPS from Det Norske Veritas (DNV) in 2013.

Also announced today was that Gerard Rohaan will step down from his role as CEO.

Notman-Watt will "take on an executive role to work closer with the management team in continuing to develop and expand VPS's commercial activities," said VPS.

"I would like to thank Gerard for his contribution to VPS as the company moved to a stand-alone independent business," said Notman-Watt.

"The company is well positioned to continue building on its market leading position and expanding its range of services to the maritime industry and I wish Gerard all the very best for the future."

Also today, as VPS announced last FebruarySteve Bee began his role as Group Commercial Director.
