Bunker Prices in Primary Ports End September at their Highest in Over a Year [ Graph ]
Bunker prices in the primary ports at the end of September were at their highest in over a year, according to Ship & Bunker data.
Ship & Bunker's Global 20 Ports Average for IFO380 bunkers, which tracks the average price on bunkers across 20 of the world's key bunkering ports, Friday rose $2 to $267.50/mt - the highest since August 17, 2015 when it was $270/mt.
Ship & Bunker's Global 4 Ports Average for IFO380 bunkers, which tracks the average price across Singapore, Houston, Rotterdam, and Fujairah, Friday hit a 19 month high, rising $1.50 to end the month at $260/mt - the highest since $261.50/mt on January 14, 2015.
As the above graph shows, however, bunker prices are still much lower than they have been in recent previous years.
