ZIM Launches Free ECO Data Calculator Covering CO2 and SOx Emissions

ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd (ZIM) today announced the launch of a new ECO Data calculator intended to provide customers and partners with estimated CO2 and SOx emissions from ZIM vessels.

"The ECO Data Calculator is part of ZIM’s comprehensive and transparent approach to reducing emissions. ECO Data Calculator provides our customers with a reliable and accessible tool," said Dudi Avni, ZIM's VP of Customer Service.

The calculator, which is available for free on the company's website, allows retrieval of data from a specific line or service between two locations for any specific number of TEU's or cargo weight carried.

The application then generates an emission report which can be saved, printed, or sent by e-mail in PDF format.

The emission data used by the calculator is based on the Clean Cargo Working Group's (CCWG's) latest emission-factors methods and calculation, and has been adjusted specifically for ZIM-operated vessels.
