Hamburg-based Becker Marine Systems (Becker) has highlighted the success of the company's offering of energy-saving systems within the North American market, noting that it has received a number of new orders.

"For more than two years, Becker Marine Systems has been represented by a branch office in Houston. During this time, the Hamburg-based ship supplier has succeeded in positioning itself on the vital North American market, generating numerous orders for the company's various product ranges," said Becker.

The company says the newly developed Compact Battery Rack (COBRA) maritime battery system will be marketed and sold through its Houston office.

"We have been able to significantly improve the degree of familiarity with Becker throughout the North American region and in the meantime have received a number of new orders," said Walther Bauer, Director of Sales & Projects at Becker Marine Systems.

Bauer says Becker's range of manoeuvring systems and energy-saving devices, as well as its liquefied natural gas (LNG)-based cold ironing systems, are in demand in the North American region.

Last year, Becker announced that the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) would promote and help fund the company's LNG hybrid cold ironing system.
