Former DOT Trader Joins Clipper Oil in Singapore

Nic Tan was said to be "a veteran in the bunker industry."

San Diego, California-headquartered Clipper Oil today announced in an emailed statement it has expanded its team in Singapore with the appointment of Nic Tan as a new bunker and lubricant trader with immediate effect.

Nic is a veteran in the bunker industry, and we believe his skill set, relationships, and professionalism will be a great fit at Clipper Oil. His hiring will allow us to continue our growth throughout Singapore and Asia-Pacific," said Clipper Oil Vice President Kevin Alameda.

With nearly 8 years of experience in the shipping and bunkering industries, he has previously worked with other bunker trading firms in Singapore including now-defunct Dynamic Oil Trading, where he joined as a bunker trader in 2013.

Tan, who is fluent in both English and Mandarin, was said to have a wealth of knowledge of the Asian bunker market including Singapore and Malaysia, as well as several years of experience in other key bunkering ports across India, the Middle East and Europe.

Clipper Oil says its main markets include the Pacific Islands, Southeast Asia, Latin America, and the USA.
