Cyprus Sees 12% Growth in Year to Date Bunker Sales

Cyprus government data shows bunker fuel sales for the island state for the first 10 months of 2016 grew 12 percent year on year to 228,004 metric tonnes (mt), compared to 203,697 mt for the same period of 2015, Platts reports.

According to Cyprus government data, sales for the 10 month January to October period had also shown a year on year increase in 2015, up from 188,988 mt in the same period of 2014.

Despite the overall gains, sales in the month of October were down year on year, amounting to 23,855 mt this year compared to 24,661 mt during the same month of 2015.

For the month of October 2016, Cyprus is reported to have sold 16,077 mt of HFO, and 7,778 mt of low sulfur MGO.
