Oil Prices Edge Up

Both Brent and WTI increased today as Chinese gross domestic product figures increased which was not expected.

This apparently signaled to the speculators that demand is back and prices should increase.

It was a rather minor increase, but is certainly bucking the trend of late.

Bunker buyers should expect a narrower trading band near term and prices to move around this spot for a while.

We do believe a trend downward will continue, just at a much slower pace and prices are more likely to increase significantly than decrease at this point.
