Bunker quantity surveyors The Bunker Detectives announced Friday the expansion of its global network to the ARA region through a partnership with Amsterdam-based marine surveying and loss control organisation Transoil BV.

Headed by Jeroen de la Bella, Transoil provides services and expertise in Ship to Ship (STS) oil tanker operations, Quality and Control, Bunker Stem Surveys, and Bunker Detective (221B) Surveys.

The European team comprises of experienced surveyors with marine / sea-going background as well as people from global surveying companies.

"Our bunker fuel concealment detection largely depends on the hands-on approach and practical experience of surveyors who being ex-seafarers themselves are well-versed with the various techniques used to conceal bunkers on board," the company said in a written statement.

"Our partnership with Transoil has not only strengthened our presence in this region but with their deep understanding of the local and European marine market will be beneficial to both our organizations."

The Bunker Detectives say that with the new location in one of the busiest bunkering regions in the world, they will be able to extend their reach to offer bunker detective and bunkering services to clients as far as Gibraltar, Sicily / Malta, and the North Coast of Africa.

Vancouver, Canada headquartered The Bunker Detectives now operate in 13 locations including Singapore, Houston, Fujairah, Panama, and Shanghai.

Kaivan H. Chinoy, the Founder and Principal Marine Surveyor of AVA Marine Group, owners of The Bunker Detectives, is also the author of Ship & Bunker's popular loss prevention series, Tricks of the Bunker Trade.
