Gulf Petrol Supplies L.L.C (GPS Bunkers) is set to install a mass flow meter (MFM) for bunker deliveries on one of its Fujairah-based barges, the supplier has told Ship & Bunker.

"We will be the pioneer to use MFM in Fujairah market," said a GPS Bunkers official.

"We are expecting a favourable response from ship owners and buyers."

The MFM system will be provided by Switzerland-based Endress+Hauser and is expected to be installed on the 6,200 dwt FNSA 10 in December, and be operational at the start of 2016.

GPS Bunkers, who started physical bunker operations in Fujairah in May, also arrange bunker supply at all Indian and Sri Lankan Ports in association with State Owned Oil Companies.

The company currently has two barges, and has plans to deploy a third barge in the UAE in the near future.

Last month GPS Bunkers hailed the largest ever single bunker supply operation in Cochin, India.
