Istanbul Supplier Fits Two More Bunkering Vessels With MFMs
Istanbul-based physical supplier CYE Petrol has fitted two more of its bunkering vessels with Coriolis Mass Flow Meter (MFM) technology.
The MFMs were fitted on MT Tarabya-E and MT Bebek-E, representing the fifth and sixth Emerson Coriolis Mass Flow Meters on the company's bunkering vessels.
Following successful testing during April 2016, CYE Petrol says their official use started as of May 11, 2016.
"CYE Petrol/ Istanbul is the first and only Turkish physical bunker supplier who is using voluntarily coriolis mass flow meters on bunker barges for bunker supplies," the supplier said, referring to its first use of the MFM technology in 2014.
"This unique service was well appreciated by the shipping industry. Managing high standard bunker supplies with well known certified system provided better image and more efficient supplies. Sales figures increased 40% during 2015."
Earlier this year Ship & Bunker reported that bunker sales in Istanbul during 2015 climbed 11.8 percent year-on-year.
