Global Risk Management has opened a new office in Copenhagen as a response to increasing market opportunities and a growing list of clients, the company announced in an emailed release.

Serge Laureau and Mark Vinther will head the new office as senior oil risk managers, both of which previously came from various derivatives and commodities trading positions.

“Our client base in the eastern part of Denmark as well as Scandinavia has increased over the years," said says Managing Director Hans Erik Christensen.

"With the new office we wish to enhance our presence in the area.”

Both men are said to have extensive knowledge of the oil market, hedging strategies and products.

“I am confident that the opening of an office in Copenhagen with this very experienced team will bring new opportunities to our company," said Christensen.

Last week the company announced it had also hired a new CFO.
