Nordic Tankers Signs Agreement with Marorka for Online Fleet Efficiency Solution
Icelandic marine energy management and fleet performance company, Marorka, says it has signed an agreement with Nordic Tankers A/S (Nordic Tankers) to provide a yearly subscription of its Marorka Online service, an energy management dashboard intended for more efficient fleet management.
Marorka Online, said to be a cloud-based solution that requires no hardware or software installation, is called by Marorka the "ideal" platform for visualising fleet information and "facilitating collaboration" between ship and shore.
"Nordic Tankers' commitment combined with internal training and onshore management will introduce a continuous improvement cycle that we expect to bring significant savings," said Carsten B. Ostenfeldt, Senior Vice President of Nordic Tankers.
"The provision of quality data to Nordic Tankers through a single platform is extremely important for us in order to provide efficient and safe tanker shipping solutions to the oil and chemical industry."
Marorka reports that during the subscription period Nordic Tankers will have an online performance system that covers all vessels within its fleet, irrespective of ownership or chartered status.
"The agreement with Nordic Tankers is a benchmark agreement for the shipping industry, where Marorka Online is monitoring automatically collected data and data taken from noon-reports as well as data imported from third-party software," said Ole Skatka Jensen, CEO of Marorka.
"It shows that data-driven energy management matters equally to shipowners operating vessel pools which include third-party vessels as well as to shipowners operating their own ships. "
Marorka notes that the online system also combines any data aquired from vessels equipped with Marorka Onboard solutions that have manual noon report data.
In May, Neste Shipping Oy (Neste Shipping) announced it had signed an agreement for the lease of energy management solutions from Marorka.
