Monjasa Partners with Former Nordic Bulk CEO Christian Bonfils on New Arctic and Offshore Venture
Christian Bonfils, former CEO of Nordic Bulk Carriers A/S (Nordic Bulk Carriers), has teamed up with bunker player Monjasa Group (Monjasa), to establish a new company called First Arctic, Danish news reports.
The company describes itself as a "high-end infrastructure and service partner to the growing number of maritime and offshore operators in the Arctic and other remote areas."
The company says intends to "act as a strategic partner in the remote and hard-to-reach areas, where oil and gas companies and other natural resources industries are making significant investments."
Bonfils, First Arctic's CEO, is reported to be currently working out of Monjasa's offices in Copenhagen.
"First Arctic build on many of the same values as our strong global partner, the Monjasa Group," the company says.
"Together, we are determined to sustain our ambitious and pioneering market approach in hard-to-reach areas like the Arctic region, West Africa or the Oceania."
Bonfils is reported to have said that First Arctic's client base is different and smaller than those of the bulk industry, but adds that those interested understand that the company's business is based on long-term opportunity.
In July, Monjasa announced it was expanding its global shipping and bunkering business to include oil trading as well.
