Certas Energy Hires Ex-OW Bunker Manager for Marine Team
UK-based Certas Energy has announced in an emailed press release that it has hired former OW Bunker manager Varun Chhabria as the new trading and risk manager on its marine team.
"Varun is an excellent fit with our current team dynamic; he brings fresh experience on the trading side of the business and is already fully furnished with the business requirements of Certas Energy having worked with members of our team already," said Gary Byers, head of UK Marine at Certas.
In early October OW Bunker announced Chhabria's appointment as UK Sourcing and Trading Manager, although Ship & Bunker understands he joined the team in Windsor in mid-August.
He has also previously worked at Ireland-headquartered Inver Energy and other commodities companies.
"This is an exciting time to join Certas Energy," Chhabria said.
"The Marine distribution side of the business is really going places and has aspirations for significant growth which I intend to help facilitate."
He will be based in offices in England and Wales.
Last year Certas Energy changed its name from GB Oils.
