The port of Cochin, India, Thursday witnessed the completion of its largest ever single bunker supply operation, Gulf Petrol Supplies L.L.C (GPS Bunkers) has told Ship & Bunker.

A total of 3,415 metric tonnes (mt) of IFO380 was delivered to the 2010-built 179,400 dwt bulk carrier ER Borneo.

"The total time taken for the entire supply was 27 hours from barge alongside to cast off," a GPS Bunkers spokesperson told Ship & Bunker.

"The physical supplier was Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL)."

Earlier this year, Paul Antony, Chairman of the Cochin Port Trust, said that the trust is working toward developing Kochi as an international bunkering hub.
