Turkish Bunker Supplier Launches Second Barge Fitted with Mass Flow Meter
Turkish bunker supplier CYE Petrol says it has launched its second bunker barge fitted with a Mass Flow Meter (MFM) system.
The "new generation" double-hulled bunker barge, M/T Kalamis-E, was launched on November 29 and follows sister barge, M/T Beykoze-E, which was launched in May this year.
The 1,805 deadweight-tonne barges are fitted with Emerson Coriolis MFMs as well as Bornemann pumps with a capacity of 420 tonnes per hour.
"CYE is aiming to register her service quality, eliminate uncertainty and bring the quality and quantity parameters into the center of the competition," said CYE Petrol earlier this year as it announced it would begin fitting MFMs to its fleet of barges.
The company has used Emerson Coriolis MFMs for loading its barges since 2005 and is now fitting them for use in deliveries.
In May CYE Petrol claimed a mass flow meter first for Turkey with the lauynch of the barge M/T Beykoz-E.
