Imtech Marine Acquired by Dutch Transportation and Private Equity Players
Netherlands-based Pon Holdings and Parcom Capital's takeover of Imtech Marine has been finalised and approved by the European Commission, Imtech Marine announced Wednesday.
The company said that it would continue to operate independently and focus on growth opportunities, with a "new era" in the company expected to be accompanied by a new name.
"The coming years, our aim will be to further strengthen our leading position in the maritime sector, with dedicated focus on our customers, employees and suppliers," said CEO René ten Brinke.
"With this new start comes a new company name, which we will announce on November 5th at the maritime Europort exhibition in Rotterdam.''
Earlier this year, Ship & Bunker reported that the company had wrapped up a three-year study and found that green technologies such as using liquefied natural gas (LNG) fuel and scrubbers can realistically help vessels achieve fuel savings of up to 5 percent.
