China Rongsheng Heavy Industries Group Holdings Limited [1101.HK] (China Rongsheng Heavy Industries) announced Wednesday it has delivered its first containership.

Measuring 299.95 meters in length, 40 meters in breadth and 24.2 meters in depth, the shipyard says the 6,500 twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) capacity vessel was "well received" by a German shipowner.

"This latest delivery not only demonstrates a breakthrough of manufacturing capability
of China Rongsheng Heavy Industries, but also marked their comprehensive strengths in

China Rongsheng Heavy Industries also said that in the face of ongoing challenges in the shipbuilding industry it is proactively adjusting its marketing strategy and design, and is actively targeting high-value-added containerships with a "green design" as one its key products.

Having developed a number of containership designs with capacities of 4,250 TEU through 7,000-TEU, China Rongsheng Heavy Industries says its efforts in improving product diversity and design flexibility will help it cope with market uncertainties and to implement strategic transformation in the future.
