Arkas Bunkering (Arkas) today announced that it conducted the largest ever single MGO bunkering operation in Turkey when it supplied the giant drill ship Noble Globetrotter II with 2,130 tonnes of gas oil in one stem.

Arkas says it used the M/T Çeşme, the largest bunkering barge in its fleet, to conduct the bunkering operation in Gemlik.

After receiving the bunkers from Arkas in Gemlik, Noble Globetrotter II is said to have sailed on to Bulgarian waters to conduct oil exploration operations.

As previously reported by Ship & Bunker, Arkas became 2015's top bunker supplier by volume, according to information from the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA).

In November, Arkas announced that it had taken delivery of the 90 metre long, 4,137 DWT M/T Çeşme, Turkey's biggest bunker vessel.
