Gulf Petrochem Group (Gulf Petrochem) Tuesday announced that it has expanded into the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) bunker market, and is now offering physical supply services in the Port of Rotterdam through its new office in Dordrecht.

The company says its new office will cater to its global clients, providing worldwide bunker trading and cargo trading, as well as a wide range of bunker products, including 380 cSt and LSGO, from two 3,000 DWT barges.

The two exclusive time chartered barges, the Virage and the Arctic, are noted to have a pumping capacity of 960 cubic metres (cbm) per hour and 800cbm per hour, respectively.

Gulf Petrochem's ARA is said to complement the group's growing global bunker supply business, which currently includes operations in the UAE, Gulf of Kutch, Indian ports of Kandla, Sikka, and Vadinar,as well as the company's office expansion in Singapore and London.

"We know that the market situation is volatile, and in this risk conscious market we are pleased to have achieved a long term strategic objective of the group to be able to offer physical bunker supplies to our customers out of the port of Rotterdam," said Neil Lamerton, Global Head of Bunkering at Gulf Petrochem.

"This expansion is indicative of our prudent risk management practices especially considering current market conditions. Our group continues to be unaffected with further expansion plans for Rotterdam in place for 2016."
