Sweden's Sirius Shipping Aps has signed a contract to manage seven tankers formerly belonging to OW Tanker, reports Swedish media.

The six month contract was reportedly made with Alba Tanker ApS, the newly created company which took over the OW Bunker subsidiary last month.

The aim is that the tankers will eventually be sold after Alba can find a buyer.

The sale however, might take some time being made, according to Sirius CEO Jorgen Olesen, who added that in the meantime, the ships' value would be best managed if used.

Oleson said that one ship is currently in Klaipėda in Lithuania, while a second is in Montevideo in Uruguay, where they will both stay and continue their tasks.

Another two will work in the spot market, while the remaining three will be placed in "suitable businesses," he said.

Alba was created late last month to take over OW Tanker, which formerly owned OW Bunker's fleet of ships, which consisted of 29 ships, 19 of which were chartered.
