Greece's Port of Piraeus is set to see 48-hours of strike action, which began Friday morning at 6 a.m. and will last until Sunday morning, the New York Times reports.

The strike is being carried out by the Seamen's Union as a protest to proposed tax increases, and will specifically affect ferries that connect the mainland with the islands.

However, the strike could result in delays and stoppages to bunkering and other port operations.

This is the latest in a series of strikes that have affected Greek ports this year.
