Lithium-ion based energy storage systems (ESS) producer Corvus Energy today announced that a liquid cooling option for its Orca ESS solutions is now available.

Orca LQ, a liquid cooled variant of the Orca ESS, is said to been designed to specifically meet the demanding requirements of extreme environments and ultra high performance use cases.

"Building on the incredible performance and affordability of Orca Energy, we have added the liquid cooled option for applications where there is a critical need to control the battery temperature," said David Lokhorst, VP Engineering of Corvus Energy.

"Our ability to match the ESS solution to the customer application is enabled by the knowledge and experience gained as the leading provider of ESS solutions. As a result, no other ESS provider can provide a fit-for-purpose ESS as cost effectively as Corvus Energy."

In December, highlighting the use of its lithium ion ESS, Corvus Energy congratulated Seaspan Ferries Corporation (SFC) on the recent delivery of its new "state-of-the-art" vessel, which can run on diesel, liquefied natural gas (LNG), and battery power.
