Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM) and Babcock International will form a 50-50 joint venture, Babcock Schulte Energy (BSE), intended to provide support to the companies' future projects, including a liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunker vessel project, LNG World Shipping reports.

BSM and Babcock International are noted to have ordered a 7,500m³ gas supply vessel from South Korea's Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in Ulsan for delivery in September next year.

The supply vessel is said to be set to minimise environmental impact of ship to ship transfers, supplying LNG to the receiving vessel with zero emissions in normal operations.

In November, ExxonMobil Corp. (ExxonMobil), Babcock International, BSM, Calor, and Orkney Islands Council signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together on the Caledonia LNG project, intended to develop bunkering in Northern UK and the North Sea.
