Wartsila to suppy LNG-fuelled tug/barge with equipment

Finnish marine engineer Wartsila is to supply a range of equipment to the Q-LNG articulated tug/barge currently under construction in the United States.

The liquified natural gas (LNG) fuelled vessel with have cargo storage, ballast water management system and steerable thrusters supplied by the company.

The tug/barge, which will be operational in 2020, will provide fuel to cruise ships along Florida's eastern coast.

The vessel will be chartered by oil major Shell.
