The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Tuesday said that, while no signs of pollution have been observed, a Unified Command (UC) response is ongoing for sunken vessel at mile marker 940 of the Mississippi River near Columbus, Kentucky.

The vessel, Todd Brown, is said to have about 17,500 gallons of diesel fuel, 150 gallons of lube oil, and 150 gallons of hydraulic oil onboard.

USCG Sector Ohio Valley watchstanders received notification Monday that the vessel was sinking along the bank of the Lower Mississippi River.

A boom has been deployed to mitigate potential pollution, and SWS Environmental Services is on scene to monitor the situation.

USCG says the cause of the incident is under investigation.
