The Petroleum Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (Petrotrin) says it is set to resume bunkering operations of tanker Valme B, which arrived in Trinidad on March 29.

The vessel is on hire to Petrotrin for an initial period of one year.

"This resumption of bunkering operations is expected to increase Petrotrin's revenue by moving some cargoes from the international market back into the regional/ bunker market," explains the company.

Bunker deliveries were expected to commence this week.

Petrotrin says arrangements currently being made for purchase of the company's own double hull bunker barge to replace Marabella, which was decommissioned in September 2015.

Ship & Bunker reported in July that Petrotrin was intending to restart bunkering activities at Pointe-a-Pierre, and would acquire the new double-hulled bunker barge to carry out operations at the port.
