Okra Energy, LLC (USA) (Okra Energy) says its Peruvian subsidiary Lantera Energy S.A.C. (Lantera) has been working on the installation of Peru's first small-scale liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility, which will provide gas for the marine industry, among other industries.

"Okra Energy constructs small-scale natural gas liquefaction plants offering operational simplicity, scalability and ultimately, a reliable supply of affordable natural gas," said the company.

Okra Energy notes that its proprietary modular solutions can be brought into production rapidly and scaled over time to meet supply needs at lower costs than traditional fuel sources.

"Constructing this plant is a significant achievement for both the LNG industry and the greater South American economy," said Louis Ravenet, CEO at Okra Energy.

"Peruvians will now enjoy the benefits of a virtual pipeline that provides clean-burning natural gas energy that was previously inaccessible. We are proud to be the industry leader in affordable ssLNG technology, key to the growth of emerging markets, worldwide."

Okra says further small scale LNG facilities are currently under contract negotiation.
