Petrobras Deploys 2 New Barges
Petrobras today announced in an emailed statement that it has deployed two new double-hull barges "in the most important Brazilian ports."
The MV LUIZ REBELO II in now operating from the port of Rio de Janeiro with a capacity to load approximately 2,300 metric tonnes (mt) of bunkers, and has a pumping rate of 300 m³/h.
The larger OSM XVIII, based in the port of Santos, has a capacity to load about 3,000 mt, and has a pumping rate of 500 m³/h.
"These new barges have arrived to improve the delivering bunker services in both ports, which are two of the most remarkable ports of Brazil and they will definitively speed our operations up, increase the delivery services as well as reduce the waiting time," said Petrobras.
Last year the supplier also added a new barge in Rio de Janeiro.
