Asian Bunker Prices See Mid-Week Gains

Ship & Bunker data showed bunker prices in Asia making gains today, with IFO380 gaining $5.00-$6.000 per metric tonne (pmt) in India, while Singapore, Busan, and Hong Kong moved up for a second consecutive day.

Singapore IFO380 was up $4.50 to $634.50 pmt, $7.00 higher than last Wednesday, and up $26.00 since December 31, 2012. Low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) rose $4.50 to $715.50 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $81.00 pmt. MGO moved up $6.50 to $950.50 pmt, an $8.00 increase week-on-week.

Busan IFO380 was up $2.50 to $666.50 pmt, $5.50 higher than last Wednesday, and an increase of $21.50 since this time last month. LS380 climbed $0.50 to $806.50 making the premium for the low sulfur fuel $140.00 pmt. MGO in the port moved up $5.50 to $984.00 pmt, the highest price since October 22, 2012.

Hong Kong IFO380 rose $4.50 to $651.50 pmt, up $8.50 week-on-week, and $28.00 higher than December 31, 2012. MGO climbed $1.00 to $969.00 pmt, an increase of $7.50 since last Wednesday, and up $9.00 month-on-month.

Tokyo IFO380 moved up $3.00 to $687.00 pmt, up $11.50 week-on-week, and the highest price since $688.50 on October 30, 2012. MDO in Tokyo moved up $2.00 to $977.00 pmt, a gain of $10.50 since last Wednesday, and $13.00 higher than December 31, 2012.
